Mr. Harris is the founder and chairman of the board of Harris & Associates, Inc., a professional services firm headquartered in Concord, California. The firm currently has a staff of more than 450 employee-owners in more than 20 offices throughout the western United States. Mark is best known as the leading expert in management for the architecture, engineering, planning, and environmental industry. With more than 25 years in the industry, Mark knows A/E/P and environmental consulting firms inside and out— first as a design firm manager, then as a principal in an ENR 500 A/E firm, and now as the founder and vice chairman of ZweigWhite, the industry’s leading management consulting, publishing, and training firm. Mark is a widely published writer on A/E/P and environmental firm management, having authored nine books. Since 1992, thousands of leaders of A/E/P and environmental consulting firms have turned to his editorials in The Zweig Letter each week for information, insight, and inspiration. Although Mark has retired from the daily operations at ZweigWhite, he hasn’t stopped spreading the gospel of good management practices. He currently teaches entrepreneurship at the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas and is an outside director on a number of A/E firms’ board of directors.
