Every firm will face a time when the current owner(s) is ready to leave the day-to-day operation of the firm. An employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) can help successful A/E firm owners avoid having to sell or close their firm as they enter retirement. An ESOP also gives owners a tool to reward and motivate the employees that factored into the firm's success. Using an ESOP provides an attractive alternative enabling the firm to remain intact both operationally and with respect to its customers and employees. Furthermore, equity ownership in the firm is spread among all employees which typically results in greater operational efficiencies and greater employee retention. The session will educate principals on tax-advantaged methods to create liquidity for retiring principals while transitioning firm management to the next generation and creating a firm culture of equity participation and ownership. Don't miss this great chance to educate your principals on how to access favorable terms in the capital markets!
